When the Gospel Makes You a Threat to Both Sides
INTRODUCTION
Catholicism is not safely contained within the confines of any political ideology.
Sometimes we’re accused of being “liberal commies” for defending immigrants and the poor.
Other times, we’re labeled “fascists” for our uncompromising defense of unborn life and traditional marriage.
But the truth, as every Catholic knows, does not submit to the spirit of factionalism.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not a tool of politics—it is a blazing fire that purifies every ideology, a cross that confronts every false security.
In the words of Jesus:
“I came to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!” – Luke 12:49
This fire does not affirm our divisions—it burns through them.
To be fully Catholic is to be politically unpredictable, spiritually uncompro

     The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a commemoration celebrated by the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church and a few other Christian religions around the world. ----- <  ✠ > -----      This celebration of Mary's Assumption began with 5th century Christians (AD 400's), although some evidence points to an even earlier observance.
