"Today, the Church is celebrating the solemnity of the Most
Holy Trinity.
So, when we speak of this solemnity, we speak of
the family of God..., we speak of a God who is father, who is son,
who is holy spirit, and at the same time we are talking about one God
in three persons.
Each of these persons has a mission....
The task of the
Father is to create
The task of the Son is to save
The task of
the The Holy Spirit is to sanctify....
And although it seems
difficult for us to understand the mystery of one God in three
persons, I want to explain it in a more human part.
It is difficult
for us to understand - when it is difficult for us to practice,
right? There is a phrase that says, "the one who worries
about how money is managed, it's because he steals more than the one
who is managing...because he has more bad intentions."
Is it
true that when you you worry so much about money, it's because you're
not going to do it right?
So calm down; don't worry and don't
think so badly of others.
I say this because in order to
understand the Trinity, one must live in unity. And it is difficult
for us to understand three persons in one God because it is also
difficult for us to live in unity.
We do not we understand how we
can be so different - and united.
The difference in the mystery
of God is that each one has a task. But even though each one has a
task, that task does not demerit the task of the other. And apart
from that, each helps the task of the other.
Its continuity –
One creates, while another saves, and another person is
sanctifying.
And when those three do their task, together, and are
united, THAT is called the unity of God.
You may have heard me say
that, “unity does not consist in that all being the same, but in
being so different, together.”
That's the principle of unity, a
way to understand the trinity.
I explain this subject of the
trinity, so as to say - “Let's learn to live in unity in the way of
God, and THEN you will understand what it means ” Three In
One.”
Think of your family, for example. When your son does his thing, or you do yours, but for the benefit o the family, that's the principle of unity.
This is NOT simply putting three heads
together in one, or putting six hands together in one. No, unity
consists three different jobs coming together to benefit a single
family, and, where what belongs to one, belongs to all, and
vice-versa. That is the true principle of unity.
Sometimes it
becomes a little difficult for us to understand this, because it is
difficult for us to practice it.
So, I would invite you this day
not so much to understand how God is one in three, but how I can be
one in my family. How can I be one in my work? How can I be one with
my companions? How could I give myself?
If each of us would give
everything this way, and strive to understand each other more... the
principle of unity would be a reality.
A beautiful phrase of the
master Jesus is that everyone is one - that one's pain hurts us all.
That when someone needs something, we are all one and that no one
judges and accepts the difference of others in this world.
Sometimes we Christians of this world are divided because we are judging each other, because we are always criticizing each other and pointing out what we think are flaws in others. You cant have unity that way. The man who wanted most to have unity was Jesus...and we find the people who follow him to often be the most divided.
Why? Because we all
want to be the ones who know everything. Because we all want to be
right, mor ethan the other guy. Because we want to become OWNERS of
God in our lives.... when the only thing we have to be owners of is
service, and of love for others.
I believe that the great task
today with this solemnity of the Holy Trinity is to plant a little
seed of unity.
What do I mean? That each of our lives is a seed
of sharing, a seed of love, a seed of understanding and tranquility
and peac.
So on this day and on this solemnity, God is one in
three MISSONS.
And us? We are people with our own mission, which
is to work for the true unity of all.
Again, The Father creates,
The Son saves, and The Holy Spirit sanctifies – three missions in
one unified God.
So when you work - it's to think about your
family.
When
you cook, it's thinking about your family.
When you study, think
about your family.
If we each thought about the other, we would be
more united and hurt each less. We would not cause so much pain, so
much division, so much hurt.
More than ever we need unity. We need each one of us to be a person with a task, with a commitment, a duty – to sow unity as their task in the family of God.
So
today let us ask the Lord....”Lord help me to discern my mission,
my work, but help me to build every day the principles of unity,
love, fraternity, so that where there is peace of mind there is joy.
God, bless and help us to understand The Trinity – but not just
from theory, but from our practical mission of sowing unity in your
name!”
The Lord be with you and the blessing of God almighty,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit descend on you and accompany you always.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph... Aleluya!
