The Bible Chained!

DID THE CHURCH CHAIN THE BIBLE AND BURN WILLIAM TYNDALE FOR TRANSLATING IT? _________________      A lot of ridiculous rumors and long believed fairy tales about the Catholic Church go around, coming from the earliest days of the Protestant breakaway, aka, The Reformation.      They're especially popular among the more vocal enemies and opponents of the Catholic Church, like fundamentalists and Evangelicals. These otherwise well-intended folks are especially fond of repeating their distortions, and nowhere is this as prominent as when it comes to the Bible.      Protestants have nothing but the Bible, as they have no Christian Tradition going back before the 1500's, and little to no accceptance of the Sacred Tradition that predates the Bible's appearance in 405 AD.      Their idea is that the Bible is all there can be for the Christian...., all that there can ever be...., and don't even dare to consider anything else.  AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL CATHOLIC FAITHFUL : A CALL TO DISCERNMENT THIS HALLOWEEN  -Fr. Daniel Fernandes My dear brothers ans sisters in Christ, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  I write this letter not to condemn, but in heartfelt concern and deep pastoral sorrow. As a Shepherd entrusted with the care of souls, it pains me profoundly to see that in recent years, even within our own Catholic circles — our gymkhanas, institutions, and social clubs — there has been a growing acceptance and even promotion of Halloween celebrations. What began centuries ago as a pagan ritual has retained its core — a glorification of darkness, fear, and the occult. The costumes, symbols, and practices of Halloween often mock what is sacred and normalize what is sinful. Scripture reminds us: “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but ra...

* Start of Catholicism - Part 1: PETER

Here we take a brief look at The Church and its very earliest beginnings...what became, "Catholicism." While this will run to several parts, it cannot be an in-depth study; mountains of paper and oceans of ink have been devoted to that work before me. You are referred you to such resources if anything here piques your interest. For contrast, we should also address, where relevant, many of the errors and sometimes crazy notions we hear about The Church from her opponents, those who are outside the Churchs' embrace. It is useful to make such a comparison of contrasts, so one can get a sense of both scope and perspective. You will find these insertions scattered throughout this art icle. HOW DID CATHOLICISM START ?        When we ask how Catholicism started, indeed, which is to ask how Christianity itself began, we must not look for just a precise date, or singular historical events — it isn't documented that way. Even the dates for the birth of Jesus or Hi...
